Phisher Fred
A grinning anglerfish con-man who dangles a fake email and hopes you bite.
What it teaches
Check the sender, the link and the rush before you click, so a fake email never gets its hook in.
> cworms --about
cWorms is a game-like learning platform for anyone who wants to start in cybersecurity, from students and employees to professionals and families. Pick a side, learn in short sessions and prove it in simulated missions.
Mission
Make cybersecurity education accessible to everyone, from first steps to advanced skills.
Vision
A role-based, mission-driven and measurable learning world where anyone can build cyber skills over time, from complete beginner to advanced practitioner.
Today: beginner-level lessons in all ten role paths. The first module of each path is fully playable, with 3 lessons, a mission and practice. Intermediate and advanced content is planned.
Four ideas shape every lesson, mission and reward.
Each role gets its own path, skills and missions, so you learn to think like the job. All ten paths are live today, and more levels are on the way.
Lessons take a couple of minutes, so coming back tomorrow feels easy.
Missions ask you to investigate, classify and decide, then explain why.
Rewards follow learning, persistence and shown skill, not empty clicks. Scoring happens on our server and every XP point is recorded.
Byte, the hooded green worm, leads ten role heroes in red and blue gear. Somewhere nearby, Phisher Fred waits with a fake email and a very big grin.
> cworms --villains
Every villain stands for one real-world threat. They are cartoons; the lessons behind them are all about defence.
Only the phishing lessons are live today. The other villains show where we are heading; their lessons are in development.
A grinning anglerfish con-man who dangles a fake email and hopes you bite.
What it teaches
Check the sender, the link and the rush before you click, so a fake email never gets its hook in.
A pompous hermit crab who locks everything up and then sends a very polite bill. Hates backups.
What it teaches
Keep offline backups and do not open unexpected attachments, so a locked-up device never has to be a disaster.
A charming octopus who copies the cafe's Wi-Fi name and then listens in from the middle. Her best line: "Free! Just click here."
What it teaches
A free network with the right name can be a copy, so confirm the name with staff and avoid logging in to sensitive accounts on open Wi-Fi.
A scruffy hedgehog who carries one big ring of keys and tries every one on every door. Favourite sentence: "Oh, you used the same password again?"
What it teaches
One password per account, a password manager and two-step sign-in mean one stolen key never opens every door.
A jittery chameleon who sticks a copy-cat code over the real one and waits. He never looks you in the eye, because his eyes point different ways.
What it teaches
Treat a code like a link: check where it leads before you open it, and be wary of stickers placed over other codes.
Offensive skills are taught only in authorized, simulated and controlled environments. cWorms never gives steps for attacking real systems. Use what you learn only on systems you own or have written permission to test.
Ethical by design: every exercise runs in a simulated, authorized lab. Never use these skills on systems you do not own or have written permission to test.
